About the teacher

Pamela Woods has over 25 years experience as a teacher in both public and private schools. She received her Waldorf teacher training at Gradalis Institute in 2000. Pamela is trained as a kindergarten teacher with an emphasis on birth to seven years and has a focus in Therapeutic Education. She has recently returned to gradauate school to study Art Therapy part time at Marylhurst Universty.

In 2001 Pamela was employed by the State of Oregon for three years. She mentored and trained early childhood educators, thus helping to enrich our community with Waldorf inspiration.

With her puppet troupe, “Out of the Blue”, she brings folk and fairy tales into Portland neighborhoods.

In 1985, Pamela began her teaching career in Portland Public Schools by founding a Parent Child program working with Head Start families to teach teenage mothers about Magda Gerber Principals.

In 1989, Spindlewood Preschool was founded, making it the oldest in-home Waldorf Inspired program in Portland Oregon.

Miss Pammie is also a doll, toy, and puppet maker, and has a passion for sewing and designing children’s clothes and costumes. Along with handwork, she enjoys Biodynamic gardening with her class year round. Her love for storytelling and imagination has inspired many puppet shows with her hand made puppets. She has recently started a line of Waldorf-inspired children’s clothing and costumes called Spindlecraft which is available through Portland-area stores Spielwerk , Gossamer, and Etsy and at local Waldorf school fairs
