Spindlewood Preschool is a state-certified, Waldorf-inspired, certified eco-friendly mixed-age nursery program providing a nurturing environment that stimulates the senses, and encourages exploration of the natural world.

Imagination is the core of Waldorf early education, therefore much attention is given to folk tales, fairy tales and puppetry. Because children learn through imitation it is of paramount importance that the teacher’s influence be worthy.

Play is the foundation of our day. Artistic enthusiasm carries the children into a healthy in-breath through watercolor painting, molding with clay and beeswax., handwork ,and baking with organic whole ingredients. Caring for the animals , gardening and playing outside in our play yard offers ample time for our out-breath. Much thought and care is given to our daily rhythm helping the children learn to breath.

The beauty and wonder of childhood are strengthened through creative and domestic activities in a loving and warm atmosphere. Care for the child’s environment and for their classmates is encouraged through the aliveness and loving heart forces of the teacher.
